11/2 Alphabetique the ace in the pack at Yarmouth

Alphabetique has caught the eye in her last two runs and looks worth siding with at 11/2 in the 4.40 at Yarmouth today.

Peter Chapple-Hyam’s filly has only had four runs and shaped really well on her second start this season when finishing fourth of 9 to Seagulll in a dcent looking maiden at Newmarket.

She made good late headway from the rear despite still looking green and kept on to be beaten 7 1/2 lengths without being unduly knocked about.

The winner has gone on to finish runner-up twice in handicaps and is now rated 86, and the second and sixth home – Swan Lakes and Perfect Light – both won next time up.

That is strong form in the context of this class 5 contest, and makes Alphabetique look on a potentially handy mark off 68 having been dropped 2lb since finishing sixth of 9 to Lisamour on handicap debut at Nottingham last time out.

The daughter of Zaminda showed plenty of pace to chase the leaders that day before weakening late on to be beaten 3 1/2 lengths.

She seems to be getting the hnag of things, and if building on that effort has to go close in this.

Another plus is that she has the services of Jordan Nason in the saddle taking another 7lb off her back, and this looks a nice opportunity for Alphabetique to open her account.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Alphabetique (11/2 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
