Majestic Dream has slipped to a career-low mark and at 12/1 rates the standout bet at Wolverhampton this evening in the 8.50 now dropped siginifcantly in grade and returned to the scene of his last success.
Mick Easterby’s gelding is on a loing losing run, having not scored since landing a 7f contest at this back in October 2012 off a mark of 67.
However, he did run a couple of solid races to finish runner-up last season – including when beaten a length by Sunraider in a 6f handicap at Hamilton on quick ground off a rating of 72.
The six-year-old now gets into this off 65, 2lb lower than when last successful and that gives him major claims at the weights.
Although Majestic Dream is yet to really fire this season, he showed that he retained enough ability to win a race of this nature three starts back over a mile in a class 5 contest at Nottingham when showing good speed to lead until weakening inside the last and finishing a 3 1/2 lenhth fourth of 11 to Ted’s Brother.
The son of Exceed And Excel also showed good early speed last time out in a class 4 contest at York over 6f before weakening, and now drops down into class 6 company for the first time in his career.
Majestic Dream also steps back up to 7f, a trip over which he had notched two of his three career success, and from a good draw to attack in stall 2 everything looks in place for a huge run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Majestic Dream (12/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
