13/2 Adjusted holds all the aces on handicap debut

The lightly-raced and progressive Adjusted looks worth siding with at 13/2 on handicap debut in the 5.50 at the Curagh today.

Aidan O’Brien’s colt shaped with promise when a not knocked about fourth in his sole run as a juvenile, and showed the benefit of that experience when chasing home Fascinating Rock on seasonal reappearance at Leopardstown over 1m 2f.

The son of Montjeu went down by a length to Dermot Weld’s colt who has sugsequently gone on to land two Group 3s and contest the English and Irish Derbys.

Adjusted then ran well to finish a staying on third to Sinkal over 1m 2f at this venue, before opening his account in good style her last time out over that distance when easily bearing Sindarban by 2 3/4 lengths in a 14-runner maiden here.

The three-year-old looked far more sharper, racing up with the pace before forging clear a furlong from home and staying on in tremendous style to score with far more in hand than the winning margin suggests.

It was an effort which suggested he may well have even more to offer when stepped up in trip to his afternoon’s 1m 4f trip, and he is clearly going the right way.

An opening mark of 95 looks fair, especially judged on his run behind Fascinating Rock, and he unlike the vast majority of his rivals he remains unexposed and open to plenty more progression.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Adjusted (13/2 BetVictor – BOG)
