Burnthill is well-treated on the pick of his form in the 3.50 at Doncaster today and makes plenty of appeal at 13/2.
Claire Dyson’s charge has just one win to his name with that success coming in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon back in March 2011 off a mark of 85.
Since then he has proved inconsistent, but he has posted some solid efforts to be placed on numerous occasions – including when an excellent third of 18 to Giveitachance over this course and distance last February off a mark of 90 in what was a much stronger contest than this.
He also ran well on his penultimate start when fourth of 13 to Kings Apollo at Towcester off today’s mark of 74 and is clearly weighted to take all the beating in this if bouncing back from a disappointing effort last time out at Wetherby.
Given his profile it would be no surprise to see him do so, and the fact that he ran so well on his sole visit to this track off a 16lb higher mark has to be a big plus.
This contest certainly lacks any real strength in depth and offers the nine-year-old an excellent chance to gain an overdue success for a triner who has saddled 2 winners in her last 5 runners and has a 25% strike rate with her runners at the track in the past 12 months.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Burnthill (13/2 BetVictor, Coral, Paddy Power – BOG)
