Foie Gras caught the eye last time out and at 13/2 rates the standout bet on tonight’s card at Kempton (7.30).

Chris Dwyer’s gelding is still a maiden after 9 starts, but has twice finished runner-up on the turf at Brighton and Bath this season off marks of 49 and 52 and now gets into this off a career-low of 47 after shaping nicely when fourth of 13 to Dustyland Fairytale over course and distance last time out.

Held-up at the rear of the firled that day he made good late headway in the final two furlongs to be beaten 6 lengths without ever quite threatening to land a blow.

He was not unduly punished once it was clear she would not be winning, and it was an effort which suggested it would not be long before he would belatedly break his duck.

Robert Tart, who rode him that day, is back in the saddle tonight taking another 3lb of his back, and if he can build on his latest effort he has to take all the bearing in this off bottom weight.

Another plus is that he has bagged a good draw in stall 4, and his handler is in decent form at present having saddled 3 winners from his last 13 runners.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Foie Gras (13/2 BetVictor, Coral – BOG)
