Tempest Fugit is strongly fancied at 6/1 to land notch a repeat success in the  3.20 Lingfield this afternoon.

John Gosden’s filly did us a favour when winning this contest 12 months agot at 16/1 where she stayed on strongly to beat Rumh by a neck.

This renewal doesn’t look any stronger and she looks to have been primed to make a bold bid to retain her crown.

The four-year-old has had just one run since, and didn’t run as badly as her finishing position suggests when fourth of 9 to Sun Central in a lsited handicap at Chester back in August.

She looked as if in need of the run that day, her first for 303 days, and after going left at the start and finding herself quickly at the rear she kept on from the two marker under tender handling.

Although eventually beaten 12 1/2 lengths she was not knocked about on a track which I don’t think suited her, and she is sure to come on significantly for that run.

The daughter of High Chaparall also reserves all her best form for today’s polytrack surface.

Her three starts on it have resulted in two wins and a second, and with Nicky Mackay – who partnered her to success last year – once again in the saddle everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommneded bet: 3pts win Tempest Fugit (6/1 bet365, Betfred – BOG)
