13/2 Your Gifted can get back to winnings ways at Kempton

Your Gifted is on a handy mark in the 5.25 at Kempton today and looks worth a wager at 13/2 to score an overdue success following an eye-catching run last time out.

The mare was a five-time winner in 2011 when trained by Patrick Morris with the last of those successes coming in a class 2 contest at Epsom where she beat Moorhouse Lad by a head off a mark of 85.

She went up 6lb for that win to a mark of 91 and was far from disgraced off it when finishing 8th of 13 to Zero Money at Haydock where she showed plenty of pace to chase the leaders before weakening approaching the last to be beaten just over 5 lengths.

The daughter of Trans Island then disappointed in hre next two starts and was subsequently off the track for 714 days before reappearing at Chester back in August after moving to join Cheshire-based Lisa Williamson.

Although well beaten that day and in her next five starts her handicap mark has fallen as a result and she has since shaped far better and put in some solid efforts to suggest her winning turn is near.

In particular she ran well to finish runner-up to My Time at Wolverhampton five starts back, and then backed that up with a solid fourth over 5f at the same venue behind I′ll Be Good in an 11-runner class 5 affair off 55.

She then finished a decent third to Roy’s Legacy at Lingfield and after putting in a below par effort on her penultaimte start caught the eye last time out at Wolverhampton when runner-up to Megaleka.

The seven-year-old stayed on well that day to be beaten 3 3/4 lengths after getting caught in traffic problems when the pace quickened and ran far better than the bare result indicates.

She now gets into this off the same mark of 55, and also looks sure to get the strong pace she needs to be seen to her best effect.
