13/2 Rowe Park handicapped to strike at Southwell

Rowe Park has been given a huge chance by the handicapper and looks decent value at 13/2 to take advantage and land the 2.10 at Southwell today.

Linda Jewell’s 11-year-old has been a terrific servant over the years, winning 11 times in 65 starts.

His last success came at Newmarket in  August 2012 where despite getting upset and rearing in the stalls he ran on gamely to get the better on Invincible Lad by a head off a mark of 81.

He went on to finish runner-up off 84 on the all-weather at Lingfield on his penultimate start of 2012 where he got nailed in the shadow of the post to be beaten a head.

The gelding went on to finish s solid third of 8 to Yeeow at Kempton on his second start last year off the same rating, but has since faild to trouble the judged in 8 starts.

However his handicap mark has fallen as a result and he now gets into this off just 72.

That is the lowest he has raced off in nearly 7 years and 9lb lower than last successful.

It gives him major claims at the weights, especially as he is now dropped back down to 5f at this venue.

He has won 2 of his 3 starts over course and distance, and was third on the other occasion off a rating of 101 behind Noble Storm.

Another plus is that he should get the strong pace he needs to be seen at his best with Bapak Bangsawan in the line-up, and everything looks in place for him to score an overdue success.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Rowe Park (13/2 bet365, Hills, Paddy Power, Stan James  – BOG)
