18/1 Goldmadchen too well-treated to ignore

Goldmadchen races off a career-low mark in the 4.10 at Southwell today and looks worth an each-way interest at 18/1.

The gelding won twice at the track last winter when trained by Keith Dalgleish, with both those successes coming over this afternoon’s 1m 4f trip.

In the first he he easily beat Lakeman by 3 1/4 lengths in this grade off a mark of 57, and he went on to land a similar affair three starts later by the same margin fromn Day Of Destiny off 62.

He got put up another 4lb after the last of those wins to 66, but went on to finish runner-u[p of it in his next two starts – albiet in selling company.

Since then his form has dipped markedly, but his handicap mark has fallen as a result and he now gets into this off 52.

That gives him big claims from a handciapping perspective if able to bounce back to his best, and although he has shown little in two starts since joining James Given those runs have come after 207 days on the sdielines and he should now be fit enough to do himself justice.

Backing him obviously comes with riks attached, but he is undoubtedly now very well-weighted and at the odds on offer it looks a risk worth taking.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Goldmadchen (18/1 Stan James – BOG)
