14/1 Beau Mistral hot stuff at Haydock

Beau Mistral is back down to a workable mark and makes plenty of appeal at 14/1 in the 8.10 at Haydock this evening.

Paul Green’s charge was in good form last summer when winning twice, with the last of those successes coming over 5f at Nottingham where she kept on strongly to beat Eland Ally by 1/2 a lentth off a mark of 69.

The mare got piut up to 73 for that success, and ran well off that rating five starts back when chasing home Star Up In The Sky at Wolverhampton.

The five-year-old has run four solid races since then without troubling the judge, and shaped better than the bare result last time up when fifth of 14 to Bacotheque at Carlisle over 6f.

The drop back to 5f today looks a big plus as all Beau Mistral’s five career successes have come over it, and she now races off a mark just 1lb higher (70) than when last successful.

That gives her every chnace at the weights, and she has also run a number of solid races to be placed over course and distance – including off a 13lb higher mark than today’s.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Beau Mistral (14/1 Ladbrokes, Paddy Power – BOG)
