14/1 Express worth chancing at beloved Nottingham

Stellar Express has been badly out of form of late but looks worth chancing at 14/1 to bounce back to form in first time blinkers in the 4.00 at Nottingham.

Mike Appleby’s filly has largely struggled since landing back-to-back successes at the track in June, but she has won 3 of her four starts at the track and if she is going to return to form then it will be at this venue and she is handicapped to do so.

The first of her wins in June saw her beat Rockme Cockney with far more in hand than the 2 1/2 length winning margin suggests off a mark of 75.   The daughter of Royal Applause then gamely made all to readily defy a 6lb rise when beating Negin by 1 1/4 lengths off 81, and is down back down to that mark.

That gives her every chance from a handicapping perspective, and the booking of Tom Queally certainly catches the eye as he has a 28.5% strike rate when linking up with Appleby in the past 12 months.

She has also rin of late and if she needs sharpening up, and if the application of the headgear has the desired effect she could take some pegging back in this small line-up if able to get her own way up front.

Backing her clearly comes with risks attached based on her last six starts, but at the odds on offer it looks a risk worth taking.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Stellar Express (14/1 bet365,Betfred – BOG)
