14/1 Threes Grand too well-treated to ignore at Donny

Threes Grand runs off a career-low mark in the 5.35 at Doncaster today and looks overpriced at 14/1.

Scott Dixon’s filly was last successful in a 13-runner class 2 handicap at York last August when keeping on strongly from off the pace to beat Hoofalong by 1 1/4 lengths off a mark of 78.

She got put up 7lb for that victory, but wasn’t disgraced off her revised mark of 85 when 14th of 24 to Hazelrigg at Ayr and also ran well off 84 when sixth of 15 to Cheveton at Nottingham.

The four-year-old now gets into this off just 75, having shaped as if needing her first two starts this season and run far better than the end result suggests.

On both occasions she has shown speed before fading late on, and she should now be spot on to do herself justice.

Her current mark means that she is 3lb lower than when winning in two grades higher than this afternoon’s contest, and gives her a huge shout at the weights on the pick of her form.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Threes Grand (14/1 Stan James – BOG)
