Taajub shaped as if coming back to form last time out and looks worth siding with at 8/1 in the 2.00 at Sandown today.
Peter Crate’s charge got back to winning ways on the all-weather at Lingfield back in February when cosily beating Royal Bajan by a length off a mark of 85.
He then disappointed in his next two starts, but there was plenty to like about his lastest run when staying on to finish a never nearer 8th of 19 to Caspian Prince in the class 2 “Dash” at Epsom.
The gelding was closing all the way to the line to be beaten 2 3/4 lengths, and has since been dropped 1lb to 89.
That makes him look well-treated on the pick of his form now dropped back into class 3 company, especially as he was rated as high as 103 in the past.
The seven-year-old is also running off a 6lb lower mark than when finishing an unlucky in-running fifth to Doctor Parkes in this contest 12 months ago, and now meets that rival on 6lb better terms.
Taajub hss also bagged a decent draw in stall 6, and with Danny Tudhope in the saddle, everything looks in place for a big run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Taajub (8/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
