The progressive Black Shadow makes his eagerly awaited handicap debut in the 1.35 at Epsom today and looks well worth a wager at the 15/2 on offer.

Amanda Perrett’s colt shaped with bags of promise on his sole run a s a juvenile, and ran a stormer on his seasonal reappearance when second of 10 to Honor Bound at Windosr.

The son of New Approach kept on well to be beaten just a length despite being carried left inside the final furlong, and the form has a solid look to it.

The winner went on to land the Oaks Trial at Lingfield at is now rated 94, the third home Tioga Pass has scored twice since, and the sixth home Aldborough has also come out and won.

The selection then opened his account in good style on soft ground at Goodwood last time out, where he made all and only had to be pushed clear to beat Altaayil by an easy 3 1/2 lengths.

It was an effort which marked Black Shadow out as a useful prospect who was on an upward curve and neending keeping firmly on side.

The three-year-old looks sure to progress again, and his opening mark of 93 looks more than fair.
