Guising looks fairly treated on the pick of his form in the 3.10 at Doncaster today and at 17/2 rates the best bet on the card.

David Brown’s gelding came good at the second time of asking when winning a maiden at Musselburgh in good style last March, where he made all to slam Ambleside by seven lengths on good-to-soft ground.

He then followed that up with a game effort to again make all and fend off Angel Gabrial by a head on his handicap debut at Windsor off an opening mark of 78.

The winner has gone on to score twice since and finished an excellent second in the Chester Cup (off 91) and is now rated 96.

Guising then disappointed in a dcent contest at York, where he led until being headed two from home and weakened badly to finish a distant 16th of 18 to Cousin Khee off a mark of 83.

However, he was clearly not right that day and was subsequently off the track for 113 days before running a blinder to finish runner-up to the progressive Venue at Haydock off 83.

His three runs after that were disappointing, but he now gets into this off 81 – just 3lb higher than when last successful – and it could well be that first time up is the best time to catch him.

With Oaks winning jockey Paul Hanagan in the saddle, he looks to have plenty going for him in what looks a winnable contest.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Guising (17/2 BetVictor – BOG)
