16/1 Claude value to cash-in on falling handicap mark

Reginald Claude has been given a big chance by the handicapper and looks overpriced at 16/1 in the 2.15 at Lingfield today.

Mark Usher’s gelding is a three-time course and distance winner, with th elats of those successes coming back in January where he came with his customary late rattle to beat Daneside by 1/2 a length off a mark of 56.

The six-year-old has failed to trouble the judge in five subqsequent starts, but having to put up to 58 is now running off just 55.

That is 1lb lower than when last successful, and the lowest rating he has run off since when winning over course and distnace back in December 2012.

It gives Reginald Claude and excellent chance from a handicapping perspective, and another plus is that he is now reunited with Racheal Kneller who has partnered him to three of his six career successes and takes a handy 5lb off his back.

Reginald Claude also didn’t shape too baldy last time out over course and distance in a race run at an unsuitable slow gallop, and at the odds on offer makes plenty of each-way appeal.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Reginald Claude (16/1 bet365 – BOG)
