16/1 Imperial Legend ready to rule at Thirsk

Imperial Legend has plenty going for him in the 3.25 at Thirsk today and looks massively overpriced at 16/1.

Dandy Nicholl’s gelding scored twice last season, with his last success coming off a mark of 80 at Haydock.

The five-year-old then ran a stormer to finish a neck second of 24 to Hazlerigg in the Syr Silver Cup off 84, and backed that up with a solid sixth of 19 to Take Cover in a class 2 contest at York off 87.

He now gets into this class 4 affair of 85, having shaped far better than the bare result suggests when sixth of 10 to Capsian prinbce at Epsom.

The son of Mujadil went right at the start, but showed plenty of pace to track the leaders until fading approaching the final furlong.

He was not knocked about once it was clear he would not be winning, and looks sure to come on siginificantly for the run.

Imperial Legend now looks on a handy mark on the pick of his form, and from a great draw in stall 15 and Paul Mulrennan in the saddle, everything looks in plavce for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Imperial Legend (16/1 sportingbet)
