Willie Hall is back down to a workable mark and at 16/1 looks the best value bet on today’s card at Ayr (3.15).
The gelding won at Sedgefield at around this time last year when trained by Willie Amos, showing a good attitude to beat Indigo Island by a length on heavy ground off a mark of 82.
He got put up 7lb for that success and has failed to trouble the judged in three subsequent starts.
The 11-year-old has been pulled-up on both his starts this season after 268 days on the sidelines, but is now able to race off just 2lb higher than when last successful on his first start since joining Lisa Harrison.
That makes him well-treated if the stable move has freshened him up, especially as he has been rated as high as 115 over hurdles in the past.
Underfoot conditions will also hold no fears, and although backing him comes with risks attached it looks a risk worth taking at the odds on offer.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Willie Hall (16/1 BetVictor, William Hill – BOG)
