The World Cup qualifiers take centre stage tonight, and England look set for a goals fest against San Marino at Wembley (8pm KO, Live on ITV1).
The Three Lions are as short as 1/200 to in a game which looks a total mismatch on paper.
San Marino are officially ranked as the joint-worst team in the world by FIFA. They have lost their last 19 competitive matches to nil, conceding 101 goals in the process – an average of just over five per game.
They have also scored just 19 goals in 22 years, so it’s no surprise to see England are a top priced 1/6 with Paddy Power to win without conceding.
However there are a couple of bets well worthy of consideration.
Over 5.5 goals can be backed at 8/11 with Paddy Power and that looks a cracking bet given that Slovakia, Montenegro, Hungary and Finland all managed to put six past San Marino while Holland and Poland both managed double figures.
In the first goalscorer market it’s no surprise that Wayne Rooney is favourite to get things rolling at 2/1. This looks the type of game where he could run riot and the 5/1 on offer with Paddy Power to score a hat-trick makes plenty of appeal given that he is as short as 6/4 elsewhere.
I fancy England to win either 7-0 or 8-0, and those scorelines can be backed at 8/1 and 11/1 with BetVictor.
