Church Music runs off a career-low mark in the 3.35 at Windsor today and will conditions to suit looks worth an each-way wager at 20/1.

The colt has notched his last two successes on the all-weather, with the latest of those coming over 5f at Kempton back in May where he ran on strongly to easily beat Triple Dream by 3 1/4 lengths off a mark of 82.

He hasn’t been in the same form in three starts since on the turf, but he wasn’t disgraced last time out when a 5 1/2 length 10th of 16 to Dungannon in a competitive class 3 contest at Ascot off 80 and now gets into this lower grade class 4 contest off just 77.

That gives Michael Scudamore’s charge every chance from a handicapping perspective – especially on the pick of his form from last season.

The four-year-old ran very well to finish a staying on 3 length third of 9 to Ballesteros in a class 2 contest over 5f in the mud at Chester off 82 and also ran very well in testing conditions at Haydock when a 1 length runner-up to Tango Sky in a class 4 contest over the minimum trip off 82.

Those efforts make him look well-weighted off 77, and although he has yet to win in five tries over today’s 6f journey he has often finished off his races in a manner which suggests it should suit.

He certainly has underfoot conditions in his favour this afternoon, and with his stable in good form looks overpriced at the odds on offer.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Church Music (20/1 BetVictor, Boylesports, Paddy Power, Stan James – BOG)
