6/1 Qalinas can get back to winning ways

Qalinas bounced back to form when runner up last time out and is strongly fancied at 6/1 to go one better in the 4.20 at Exeter today.

The eight-year-old was in good form in the first half of 2013 when landing back-to-back successes at Lingfield and Taunton, and was particularly impressive in the latter when cruisng clear to score easily by 12 lengths off a mark of 114.

Qalinas then ran very well to finish runner-up in a class 3 contest off 125, and David Pipe’s charge gets into this lower grade class 4 contest off 115.

That is just 1lb higher than when last successful and after two quiet runs after a lengthy absence Qalinas ran a stormer last time out to go down by just 1/2 a length to Cash Injection ina  14-runner affair at Chepstow.

Although he has been hit with a 5lb rise for that run, he remains well-treated on the pick of his form, and the rise has been offset by his riders’ 7lb claim.

The third home in the Chepstow contest Alberto’s Dream – who was beaten 4 1/2 lengths – also ran very well yesterday to get just touched off at Huntingdon to give the form a boost and this looks a good opportunity for Qalinas to get back on the scoresheet.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Qalinas (6/1 bet365, Betfred, BetVictor, Sky Bet – BOG)
