The unexposed Secret Hint is strongly fancied at 6/1 to get back on the winning trail in the 5.10 at Goodwood today now dropped back in trip.
Andrew Balding’s filly shaped with bags of promise when third behind Magnus Maximus on debut at Kempton last last October in a race which has worked out extremely well.
The winner has won twice since, including a valuable sales race at Newmarket and is now rated 98, the runner-up Much Promise scored next time up and is rated 80, the fourth home Pushkin Museum has scored twice and the sixth home Mr Win has also scored twice and is rated 92.
That is strong form, and Secret Hint then created a good impression when opening her account next time up over 6f at Doncaster on seasonal reappearance when showing a smart turn of foot to easily beat Marmoom by 1 3/4 lengths.
She was allotted an opening mark of 80 on tha back of that success, but ran too keenly on the outside of the field in a 7f class 2 contest at Goodwood before weakening to finish a well-beaten 12th of 13 to Safety Check.
Nothing went to plan at all that day, and there is little doubt in my mind that Secret Hint is worth another chnace to confirm earlier promise and potentially better than her current mark based on her debut effort behind Magnus Maximus.
The drop back to 6f will suit, as will the drop down into class 4 company, and everything looks in place for a huge run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Secret Hint (6/1 Betfred – BOG)
