Mullionheir worth an interest at 14/1 on handicap debut

Mullionheir looks worth chancing at 14/1 on handicap debut in the nursery at Kempton this evening (6.20) now dropped to the minimum trip.

John Best’s colt shaped as if needing the experience on his first two starts, before putting in a much improved effort last time out at Windsor over 6f.

The son of Mullionmileanhour looked far more street wise and shwoed plenty of pace to race at the head of affairs before being headed a furlong from home and weakening late on to finish a 5 length fifth of 11 to Some Show.

The winner went on to finish a neck second on handicap debut yesterday at Leicester in a class 4 contest off a mark of 68, and the third home Flashy Diva won next time up.

That makes the form look pertty good in the contest of this class 5 contest, and Mullionheir’s opening mark of 60 could be exploitable if he can take another step forward.

The pace he showed at Windsor suggest the drop back to 5f will be ideal, and if he can get to the front early he could take some pegging back in what isn’t a strong looking race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mullionheir (14/1 generally available – use BOG firms
