Taraz got no luck in-running on handicap debut and looks worth another chance at 7/1 to prove he is potentially well-treated in the 8.50 at Windsor this evening.

The three-year-old has only had fourstarts, and shaped with promise in the first two of those as a juvenile when trained by Richard Hannon.

He particularly caught the eye on debut when a not knocked about sixth of 14 to Lord Ben Stack over 1m at Haydock in a race which has a strong look to it.

The winner is a well-regarded sort rated 92, the runner-up Dissolution has won twice since and is now rated 90, the fourth home Rocky Rider has also won twice since and is now rated 99, and the fifth home Rosenbaum has also gone on to taste sucess on two occasions.

That is strong form and Taraz’s opening handicap mark of 64 look very exploitable.

However, he didn’t get a chance to show his true colours off it last time out at Ripon when eight of 11 to Mythical City, getting repeatedly blocked and being allowed to come home in his own time.

To me he finished full of running that day, and having been quickly dropped 2lb to 62, Roger Varian’s charge is definitely worth another chance to confirm earlier promise

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Taraz (7/1 Ladbrokes – BOG)
