La Bacouetteuse looks woth siding with at 7/2 to land the 4.30 at Mussleburgh for the second year running having slipped back down the weights.
Ian Jardine’s veteran is a three time winner at the venue, with the last of those successes coming in this contest 12 months ago where he ran on strongly to beat Goldan Jess by 2 lengths.
The nine-year-old backed that up with a fair third to Platinum over course and distance of a reviseed mark of 67, but has since failed to trouble the judge in five subsequent starts,
However, his mark has fallen as a result and he now gets into this of 60, the same as when winning last year.
That gives La Bacouetteuse every chance at the weights if bouncing back to his best, and although he has been well beaten in two runs gthis season he has shaepd as if needing the outings and should now be spot on to do himself justice.
His handler is also likely to have brought him along steadily with this race in mind, and with David Allan in the saddle a big run looks assured on a track and ground which suits.
Daily Sport recommmended bet: 3pts win La Bacouetteuse (7/2 Hills – BOG)
