The lightly raced Zeteah looks worth siding with at 8/1 to cash-in on a potentially lenient handicap mark in the 4.55 at Bath today
David Lanigan’s filly didn’t make much of an impact in three maiden runs last year, but was well-supported on the last of those when finishing fourth of 7 to My Gigi over 7f at Kempton.
She raced far too keenly on the outside of the field that day to do herself justice, and dropped away to be beaten 7 1/2 lengths having disputed second place at around the two marker.
The daughter of Passing Glance was then upped in trip to 1m 2f for her handicap debut at Brighton on seasonal reapperance and shaped as if needing the run – her first for 174 days.
After being held-up in touch, Zateah made headway a furlong out before finding herself short of room and keeping on at the one pace to finish a 7 1/4 lengths fifth of 9 to Sandy Cover.
She was not knocked about, and is sure to come on significantly for the run.
The four-year-old should certainly be capable of exploiting a lowly mark of 47 and is a rare runner at the track for her handler who is in terrific form at present and hs a good record with similar types.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Zeteah (8/1 generally aavailable – use BOG firms)
