9/2 Shaneboy Syl hot stuff at Henlow

There is some decent Open race action from Henlow tonight (Live on RPGTV, Sky 212) and Shaneboy Syl looks cracking value at 9/2 in the final race on the card.

Ernie Gaskin’s dog created a good impression when winning over 575m at Romford four starts back and looked a sure fire winner over 750m at that venue on his penultimate start when showing bags of early pace and shooting clear only to totally cramp-up.

However he showed no ill effects for that last time out over tonight’s coures and distance when running a solid race to finish third behind the classy Killieford Khali where he stayed on to be beaten 10 1/4 lengths.

There is nothing of the calibre of that winner in this line-up and he looks sure to come on for his first sighter at the venue.

He certainly doesn’t look to have to find much on the clock to make him very competitive and if he can show the early pace that he did when winning at Romford then he could prove extremely hard to peg back.

In the early races there are two favourites that I find it impossible to oppose.

The first is Blackstone Marco who runs from Trap 3 in the 8.45pm and looks a gift at the even money on offer.

Mark Wallis’ charge finished second in the maiden Derby here last year and has since won both his starts at this venue in runaway style by 4 lengths and 6 lengths.

He has early pace to burn, and ran a blinder to finish runner-up to the brilliant Pay Freeze when last seen in action in the Lawrence Jones Memorial at Monmore.

The son of Head Bound now meets nothing of the calibre of that winner and looks a class above his rivals tonight.

In my book he is a 4/6 shot at best, and the evens on offer looks a steal.

The other that I really like is Diane Henry’s Savana Roberto, who  looks to have a plot draw from Trap 6 in the 9.00 and rates a solid get at 5/4.

The son of Crash is the sole wide seed in the line-up and has some top class form to his name at the venue.

He was far from disgraced when finishing a staying on third to Reel Trickyone in the Cesarewitch Final back in December when staying on after getting badly crowded at the first and ran a cracker last time out when chasing home Blackrose Mia after showing blistering early pace befoite getting picked up late on.

A similar start tonight is likely to see him away and gone, and I can’t see any of his rivals picking him up if that proves to be the case.

Daily Sport recommended bets:

8.45pm – T3 Blackstone Marco (Evens – Betfred, Coral)

9.00pm – T6 Savana Roberto (5/4 – Betfred, Paddy Power, Stan James, 888sport)

9.15pm – T2 Shaneboy Syl (9/2 – bet365, Coral)
