Mick’s Man a Strong bet at Wolves

Strong Man looks to hold outstanding claims in the 5.45 at Wolverhampton today and rates a solid bet at 3/1.

Mick Eastery’s charge is a dual course and distance winner, with the last of those wins coming off a mark of 63 back in December 2012.

Since then he has won twice on the turf at Catrrick and Leicester off 60 and 66 respectfully and also finished runner-up off 73 on that surface.

He now gets into this off 68, and that looks workable judged on recent efforts.

The six-year-old got beat just a short-head off it four starts back over course and distance when not getting much room near the finish and rallying strongly, and also ran well on his penultimate start at Southwell when runner-up off it to Kung Hei Fat Choy.

His run at Krempton last time out when a 1 3/4 length fifth of 14 to Shaolin off 69 was another solid effort, and the handicapper has been kind in dropping him 1lb since.

The son of Gentleman’s Deal also goes extremely well for Graham Gibbons, and another plus is that he has a good draw in stall 1 from which to attack as he likes to race up with the pace.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Strong Man (3/1 Ladbrokes, Paddy Power – BOG)
