A Genie In Abottle created a good impression when scoring on hurdling debut and looks worth siding with at 16/1 in the 4.55 at Punchestown today.
The gelding won his sole start in an Irish point in good style, and shaped with promise when third in a bumper at Leopardstown on debut for trainer Noel Meade.
A Genie In Abottle duly built on that to land a bumper at Naas in game fashion, before making a winning debut over hurdles at the same venue last month.
The five-year-old made a mistake four from home before making good headway two out to take up the running at the last and forge clear om the run-in to beat Call It Magic by 3 1/2 lengths.
Call It Magic had ran well earlier in the season to finish an 8 1/4 length third to Acapella Bourgeious who is as short as 4/1 second favoruite for this.
On a line through Call It Magic there is not much between Acapella Bourgeious and the selection, especially as A Genie In Abottle remains totally unexposed over hurdles and open to any amount if improvement.
Therefore at four times the odds of that rival, he looks overpriced and well-worth an each-way wager at the odds on offer.
