Alluring Star is back down to a mark she can exploit and is of major interest at 11/2 in the 4.55 at Wolverhampton now back up in trip to 7f.
Mick Easterby’s mare was in fine form in 2011, winning three times over 7f and a mile with her last success coming off a mark of 64.
She was put up to a mark of 71 after that win, and not surprisingly her form tailed off and she failed to get her head in front last year despite running some solid races to be placed.
The five-year-old then took advantage of her falling mark when bolting up by 3 lengths over a mile at Beverley back in April where she beat Saafa by 3 lengths off 55.
That was followed by a highly creditable second of 10 to Eutropius over a mile at Pontefract off 62, anfd she has since gone on to finish in the first 3 on three occasions off 64.
The last of those came her three starts back over today’s 7f trip where she raced prominently throughout and took up the running two out until being unable to find any extra and weakening close home to be beaten 3 length into third behind George Fenton.
Since then she has had two spins over 6f, a trip which is short of her best in my opinion, and she caught the eye in the last of those here when keeping on at the one pace to finish fifth of 9 to Dilgura off 62.
The handicapper has since dropped her another 2lb to 60, and judge in the pick of her form she looks weighted to go in again.
Her shrewd connetions are now upping her back up to a far more suitable trip of 7f, over which she has notched 2 of her 4 career successes, and although she has yet to win on the all-weather her sire Gentleman’s Deal was a prolific winner on it and she has run some solid races on it at this venue.
James Sullivan, who gets a good tune out of her and has partnered her to win twice, is also back in the saddle for the first time in five starts and everything looks in place for a huge run.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Alluring Star (11/2 Boylesports, Sky Bet – BOG)
