Anthem ready to Rock at Kempton

Rock Anthem has plunged down the weights and rates a solid bet at 11/4 to take advantage and score and overdue success in the finale at Kempton this evening (7.15).

Mike Murphy’s gelding ran a cracker three starts ago when third to Doncosaque at Windsor off a mark of 69 and is able to race off a 10lb lower mark this evening.

Since that run he has shaped really well, finishing a never nearer 7th of 11 here in a race that wasn’t run to suit and then staying on well to finish third to Justcallmehandsome at Wolverhampton last time out.

Both those runs suggested to me that he was ready to go in again, and he is certainly weighted to do so.

His all weather rating of 59 means that he is now 10lb lower than his last success on the turf at Sandown last September where he showed a good turn of foot to come from off the pace and readily beat Beaumont’s Party by 3/4 of a length.

That form looks pretty strong in the context of this contest and I fully expect him to win what looks a weak contest.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 4pts win Rock Anthem (11/4 generally available – use Bog firms)
