Apostle holds all the aces at Chester

Apostle is back below his last winning mark and at 7/1 rates the best bet on today’s card at Chester (3.15).

David Simcock’s charge was last successful at this venue 13 months ago when running on strongly to beat Mishaal by 1 1/4 lengths off a mark of 88.

He backed that up with a solid fourth at the track off 93, and was then far from disgraced over 7f at the Roodee when a 5 1/4 length third to Athletic off the same rating.

Apostle is now back down to 86, 2lb lower tahn when last victoruious, and has shaped nicely in his last two starts at the track.

In the first he put an eye-catching effort hen staying on to finish a never nearer 2 3/4 length third of 11 to Sound Advice, and he also ran well last time out when finishing fourth behind the same rival.

Those runs suggest his time is near, and with conditions fine this Apostle looks weighted to get back on the winning trail from a good draw in stall 4.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Apostle (7/1 William Hill – BOG)
