Arlecchino’S Leap caught the eye last time out and looks worth siding with at 10/1 in the 2.55 at Wolverhampton today now returned to the scene of his sole success.
Mark Usher’s gelding land a 5f contest at the venue last August when coming from off the pace to beat Designate by 1/2 a length off a mark of 63.
He got put up to 66 for that success and failed to shine in two subsequent starts.
However, there was much more to like about his seasonal reapperance run at Kempton last month when fourth of 10 to Ghalib in a 6f contest off 65.
The three-year-old was held-up off the pace and given plenty to do by Liam Keniry before making headway a furlong from home to be nearest at the finish and beaten 4 3/4 lengths.
It was a promising comeback after 210 days on the sidelines given how the race panned out, and Arlecchino’S Leap has since been dropped 1lb to 64.
That is just 1lb higher than when victorious at this venue, and give him every chance at the weights if progressing as expected from his run at Kempton.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Arlecchino’S Leap (10/1 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
