Arsenal too strong for Newcastle

Arsenal look a solid bet at 3/5 with bet365 and BetVictor to win their last game of the season against Newcastle at St James’ today (4pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1) and guarantee themselves a top four finish.

The Gunners also go into the game knowing that a win by two clear goals and a defeat or draw for Chelsea in their home game against Everton will see their snatch third place from their London rivals.

The stats are certainly in their favour as the Magpies have won just one of their last 11 Premier League games against them (W1, D5, L5).

Alan Pardew’s side have also won only one of their games on the final day in their previous 10 campaigns (D5, L4), and Arsene Wenger’s men come into the game in terrific form having lost none of their last 9 games in the league (W7, D2).

They have also won their last four games on the road, and everything suggests they will emerge victorious.

In the goalscorer markets, Theo Walcott looks the player to concentrate on and been victorious in their last four away games.   He has found the net in each of his last three starts, and  bagged a hat-trick when Arsenal beat Newcastle 7-3 in the reverse fixture.

888sport go a best of 11/2 about him netting the opener, and he can also be backed at a tasty 6/4 with 888sport to net anytime.

The latter looks huge given that he is as short as 10/11 elsewhere.

Another interesting stat is that Newcastle have failed to score in their last two home games, so backing Arsenal to win to nil at 11/5 with Coral and 888sport also looks worth a wager.
