Spurs set to sink Sunderland

Spurs are long odds-on to beat Sunderland at White Hart Lane today (4pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 2) and give themselves a chance of a top four finish and everythings suggests that they will do just that.

The Lilywhites go into the game in fifth place, just one point and place behind arch rivals Arsenal who travel to St James’ to take on Newcastle.

They need to focus on getting the job done and securing all three points and hope that the Magpies can do them a favour by either beating or holding the Gunners to a draw on Tyneside to enable them to snatch the coveted fourth spot.

If current form and the stats are anything to go by then they should be able to beat the Black Cats.

Sunderland have won just one of their last eight Premier League games against them (L4 D3), and Spurs have suffered just one defeat in their previous 11 league home games against them (W9 D1 L1).

Emmanuel Adebayor has scored five goals in his last six league appearances in the month of May –  including two in his last two matches – and makes plenty of appeal at 9/2 with BetVictor and Hills in the first goalscorer market

Another interesting stat is that Spurs have found the net in the last 15 minutes in each of their last six league games, and Ladbrokes will give you 11/10 about them making it seven.
