Good Authority has fallen to a dangerous mark and is strongly fancied at 6/1 to take advantage and land the spoils in the 9.10 at Kempton this evening now eased in grade.
The gelding is a course and distance winner whose last success came in a class 4 handicap at Goodwood last June off a mark of 85 when trained by Karen George.
The seven-year-old went on to finish a decent seventh of 17 to Magic City in a class 3 contest at the same venue off 88, and now gets into this class 5 affair off just 74.
That is 11lb below his last winning mark and gives him outstanding claims at the weights.
The seven-year-old also didn’t shape too badly last time out on his first start for Victor Dartnall when 8th of 17 in a competitice class 4 contest at Ascot, and prior to that had also run well to make the frame in two class 4 contests – including over CD.
The drop back down to class 5 company is a big plus. and he was beaten just a nose in it four starts back over CD off his current mark when partnered by Kieran Shoemark who is back in the saddle this evening and takes a handy 7lb of Good Authority’s back.
