Lucinda Russell has her team in great form and looks to have a good chance of landing a treble at Ayr today.

The Scottish handler saddles Cadore in the opener at 1.10, and he looks to have been found a good opportunity to open his hurdling account after a highly promising debut at Wetherby.

The four-year-old, who was a fair maiden on the flat for Peter Chapple-Hyam, jumped well at the Yorkshire track and after holding every chance two from home could find no extra in the closing stages before being beaten just 2 1/1 lengths by Mica Mike.

The pair finished 10 lengths clear of the third, and the form looks solid in the context of this contest.

Although taking on older rivals this afternoon he receives a hand weight allowance as a consequence and granted normal improvement is the one they all have to beat.

In the second race (1.40), Lucinda saddles the very promising Blenheim Brook who came good at the fourth time of asking over fences when making the most of an easy opportunity to slam Presque Perdre by 10 lengths at Newcastle last time out.

Before that the gelding had finished runner-up three times, including to the useful Astracad and Lie Forrit.

He is a horse I really like and have plenty of time for, and this looks a great chance for him to follow-up as he is officially rated 9lb and upwards clear of his rivals.

The other one that will hopefully complete the treble is is Delightfully who runs in the handicap hurdle at 2.40.

The mare is a quirky sort but bounced back to form when narrowly touched off at Wetherby last time out absolutely loves testing going.

She ploughed through the mud when scoring at Hexham last March and races off just a 3lb higher mark this afternoon.

That gives her a huge chance from a handicapping perspective, and with Grant Cockburn – who gave her a great ride at Wetherby – back in the saddle everything looks in place for huge run.
