Baker’s Medburn Cutler a tasty punt at 16s

Trainer George Baker does well with his runners at Brighton and his Medburn Cutler looks worth siding with at 16/1 in the 4.30 there today now fitted with the visor for the first time.

Baker has a 37.5% strike rate at the seaside venure in the past 12 months, saddling six winners and six placed horses from 16 runners.

That makes Medburn Cutler look a bit overpriced if he can bounce back from a porr run last time out, as he had previously caught the eye when staying on to finish fifth of  13 to Hamble at Lingfield off a mark of 54.

The fourth home in that contest Glens Wobbly, to whom Medburn Cutler was conceding 13lb and beaten just 1 1/4 lengths, has since come out an bolted up by 5 lengths and that maeks the selection look potentially well-treated in this class 6 contest off a mark of just 50.

The fitting of the visor for the first time may also bring about further improvement, and this track may also suit judged on his effort at Lingfield.

With Pat Cosgrave in the saddle, Medburn Cutler looks well-worth an each-way wager at the odds on offer for a stable going well at present.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Medburn Cutler (16/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
