After nearly 3 years the long winded but ultimately successful Super Six comes to its conclusion when Carl Froch faces off against Andre Ward in the early hours of Sunday morning (3am Live on Sky Sports).

Not only are Super Six honours at stake but also the WBC and WBA(Super) and the vacant Ring Super Middleweight titles which are up for grabs.

Ward made his way thought this tournament in dominant fashion. he head-butted Mikeal Kessler to force a 11th round Technical Decision (I stopped counting at 5  head butts), and then bored us senseless when winning a 12 round UD against the useless Allan Green before beating Arthur Abraham in the semi-final.

Froch, on the other hand, won a split against the reluctant Andre Dirrell in what proved boring spectacle before losing a close slugfest to Kessler when he sort of gave away the first half of the fight. However the Cobra then shocked us all when beating up Arthur Abraham away from home and cruised through his semi against Glen Johnson.

Ward will be an interesting test. Fans will say his speed and elusiveness will cause Froch all kind of problems. But I don’t agree. In my view he is a dirty and awkward with his constant holding, and I don’t think he can’t hurt Froch. It’s also clear that Ward cannot take a shot like Froch can.

In world boxing it is arguable than nobody has a CV like Carl Froch’s and at 11-4 I feel he is a value bet against a fighter I feel is hugely overrated.
