Blaine weighted to strike at Epsom

Blaine has slipped to a career-low mark and looks worth a wager at 11/1 in the 5.50 at Epsom today having caught the eye last time out.

The gelding is on a long losing run having not scored since landing a hot handicap at York back in August 2014 off a mark of 100.

However he is now able to race off 13lb lower (87), and posted his best effort for some time when staing on to finish a never nearer 3 length seventh of 15 to Harry Hurricane over 5f at York last month.

That was just his third start since joining Dandy Nicholls and a big step back in the right direction, and the step up to 6f over which he has notched three of his four career successes is a plus.

The blinkers are also now going back on, and the boooking of Kieren Fallon to do the steering is an eye-catching one and suggests connectiosn mean business.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Blaine (11/1 Coral – BOG)
