Boris Gregoriev and Gibbons a tasty punt at 16/1

Boris Grigoriev has slipped to a dangerous mark and looks worth siding with at 16/1 in the 3.20 at Redcat today now reunited with jockey Graham  Gibbons.

Mick Easterby’s gelding is on a long losing run having not scored since landing a class 5 contest on soft ground at Ayr back in September 2013 off a mark of 67 in the hands of Gibbons.

He got put up to a mark of 73 for that success, and it’s fair to say that his form has been very hit and miss since.

However he didn’t run too badly when third at Hamilton back in May off 66, and backed that up with a decent 1 length fourth of 11 to Red Invader at Carlisle off 65.

The six-year-old is now able to race in this off just 63, 4lb lower than when last successful, and that gives him major claims at the weights.

It’s also interesting that Gibbons is now nack in the saddle, as he has not been aboard since Boris tried to follow-up his last success at Ayr when well beaten at Beverley back in July 2014.

His presence in the saddle suggests shrewd connections are expecting a big run, and with underfoot conditions to suit everything looks in place for one.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Boris Grigoriev (16/1 Coral, Stan James – BOG)
