Boxing to sweep the nation

Yesterday at London’s world famous O2 saw the launch of boxings first ever dedicated TV station “Box Nation” the channel will launch on Friday 30th September with LIVE coverage of Liam Walsh and Paul Appleby from York Hall in London.

At a packed press conference host by Frank Warren & Boxing Channel Media they laid out their plans for the biggest thing to happen to boxing coverage in the UK since the launch of TV. Box Nation will be free-to-air until the end of 2011 when it will then become a subscription channel for just £10 per month. The channel will broadcast from 6pm – Midnight 7 days a week and into the night when the cover major US live shows. The programming mix will be at least 2 live shows a week plus a boxing archive featuring some of the biggest fights and fighters of all time with new content and programming added as the channel evolves. Simon Green CEO of Box Nation said”We are in talks to bring Box Nation to the Virgin Media broadcast platform in due course.”

The press conference was packed with some of the biggest names and prospects in British Boxing including Nathan Cleverly, James DeGale, George Groves, Tony Bellew, Billy Joe Saunders, Frankie Gavin, Liam and Ryan Walsh plus the founders of Britain’s newest boxing promo company Queensberry Promotions Francis & George Warren.
