Byrd In Hand is back down below his last winning mark and looks worth siding with at 11/2 in the 4.30 at Brighton today now returned to a track he runs particularly well.

John Bridger’s gelding has notched three of his four career successes at the venue, and two of those have been over this afternoon’s trip of 1m.

In the last of those the eight-year-old easily beat Black Dave by three lenbths off a mark of 57 last October.

Byrd In The Hand went on to finish a highly creditable 3/4 of a length third at Windsor off 62, and is now able to race in this off just 55.

That gives him every chance at the weights, and although he has failed to sparkle in three runs so far this season Byrd In Hand usually needs a few outings to put him right.

He also now drops back down into class 6 company after running in class 5 affairs in his last two starts, and looks a massive player in this on the pick of his form now returned to his favourite stomping ground.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Byrd In Hand (11/2 Coral – BOG)
