Can 6/1 Welsh Nayber Bathe in Glory at Bath?

Welsh Nayber makes his eagerly awaited handicap debut in the 4.10 at Bath and is of major interest at 6/1.

Amanda Perrett’s colt didn’t show much in his first two starts but was a real eye-catcher last time out when 8th of 14 to Goodwood Atalantis over 7f at Salisbury.

He made good late headway from midfield a furlong from home and stayed on strongly without being subjected to a hard race to be beaten five lengths at the line.

The son of Nayef looked to be crying out for a step up in trip, and on his breeding today’s 1m 2f journey should suit.

He was certainly not stopping at the end of the Salisbury contest, and it would be no surprise to see him step up again now going handicapping.

If the extra trip this afternoon does bring about the excepted improvement he could be potentially very well treated off just 62.

Another plus is that his handler has an impressive strike rate of nearly 27% at the track in the past 12 months, saddling four winners and five placed horses from just 15 runners.

Everything looks in place for a bold showing, and at 6/1 Welsh Nayber looks solid each-way value.

Recommended bet: 4pts each-way Welsh Nayber (6/1 generally available – BOG firms)
