Udinese worth a punt at 7/5 to silence Wenger boys
The pressure is growing on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, and Udinese look value at 7/5 to add to his woes in tonight’s Champions League qualifier (7.45pm KO, Live on ITV1).
The Gunner’s manager has seen his odds on exiting the Emirates tumble in recent days after continued speculation over the lack of big-name arrivals following the loss of Fabregas and Nasri.
He is now into second favourite in the Premiership “Sack Race” and as low as 5/1 with Sky Bet to be the next to get the boot.
A growing injury list and suspensions is testing the current squad to the limit, and whilst Wenger has vowed to spend the patience of fans is wearing thin.
Arsenal have made a poor start to their Premiership campaign, managing just a draw with Nwecastle and getting beat 2-0 by Liverpool.
They were also far from convincing in beating tonight’s rivals 1-0 at home in the first leg, a match which saw Wenger slapped with an additional two game touchline ban for contacting the bench whilst supposed to be serving a ban.
In fact, Udineese could feel a little hard done by that they are not going into tonight’s game on level terms, as they did enough at the Emirates to deserve a draw.
Their undoubted star of the show was striker and captain Antonio Di Natale, who looked very menacing and twice hit the woodwork.
He has been the top scorer in Serie A for the past two seasons, and will be keen to turn on the style and make amends on home soil in a game which he claimed at a press confernece was “the most important match of my life”.
Udinese will surely have only one intention when the whistle blows at 7.45, and that will be to attack from the off and bombard Arsenal with a tide of early pressure.
The Gunners are likely to find themselves quickly on the back foot, and goal scoring chances for the Wenger boys are likely to be very sparse.
Given the threat that Di Natale poses, I can’t see the Gunners being able to snuff him out for 90 minutes and stop him finding the back of the net.
Therefore the Italians have to be worth a bet at the 7/5 on offer with Victor Chandler.
Quality details! I have been searching for some thing similar to this for some time now. Thank you!
