Changing Lanes ready to hit top gear at Hereford

Changing Lanes has dropped down to a winning mark and is of major interest at 9/1 in the 2.05 at Hereford.

The eight-year-old is now 4lb lower than when last successful at Uttoxeter back in July 2010 when trained by John Flint, and shaped with plenty of encouragement on his latest start when fifth of 15 to Rossmore Lad at Chepstow.

Held up that day he made good headway on the outside to take up the running four out before weakening out of contention to from home to be beaten 24 lengths.

However he ran far better than his finishing position suggests and showed enough to suggest he was coming back to something like his best.

If he can build on that effort then there is every chance that he can take advantage of his lenient handicap mark in what on paper looks a far less competitive affair.

To me he should be no bigger than 6/1 for this, so at the 9/1 on offer he looks cracking each-way value.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Changing Lanes (9/1 Boylesports, Paddy Power, Victor Chandler – BOG)
