Chelsea boss cut to 2/1 to get the boot

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-boas has been cut to just 2/1 by online betting form Bodog to get the axe following his side’s 2-1 away defeat by Bayer Leverkusen in last night’s Champions League clash.

Leverkusen, tipped up at 5/2 by the Daily Sports’ soccer expert Tom Warrington, grabbed a last minute winner to leave Chelsea needing to beat Valencia in two weeks time to be certain of securing their place in the last 16 of the competition.

The Blues have now won just two of their last seven games in all competitions and their young manager, who had been a 10/1 shot to go before last night’s game, is coming under increasing pressure from club owner Roman Abramovich to deliver.

Bodog Nick Gray said: “If Chelsea don’t beat Valencia at home it could be curtains for Villas-Boas because we all know how much his boss wants to win the Champions League.”

Meanwhile, William Hill make the Portuguese manager an 8/11 shot not to be in charge of Chelsea on the first day of next season.

Spokesman Graham Sharpe said: “AVB is setting unwanted records for Chelsea defeats, and it is difficult to see Mr Abramovich putting up with that for much longer.”
