The big game today sees Man City play host to at the Etihad (1.30pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1) and the visitors look worth a wager at 16/5 with BetVictor and Stan James to come out on top.
As far as the stats are concerned, City have won only one of their last four Premier League matches against Chelsea. However having won 10 of their first 12 league away games against City the Blues have lost the last three in a row.
The good news as far as Chelsea is concerned though is that City have won none of there last three games in the league (D2, L1), and the pressure is starting to mount on Roberto Mancini following their 3-1 defeat at Southampton in the last of those.
That fact won’t have been lost on Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez and I think he will have his players up for this big time.
A victory for the Blues will reduce the gap between them and City to just one point, and also put an end to all slim hopes City have of retaining the title.
I think they have the firepower and resolve to serve it up to City good style, and the 16/5 on offer is simply too big to ignore.
As far as the goalscorer markets are concerned, I like the look of the odds on offer about Frank Lampard.
He is aiming to score in five consecutive Premier League appearances for only the third time, and is priced up at 10/1 generally to score first.
That looks a decent price, but an even tastier bet is for him to net anytime at a standout 7/2 with Stan James given that he also takes the penalties.
Talking of penalties, another interesting punt is for their to be one in the match at the 11/4 on offer with Hills and Stan James as the stats reveal that Chelsea have been awarded more penalties than any other side this season (8) while City have been awarded 14 since the start of last season.
