Priced out

Liverpool’s 6′ 8″ heavyweight David Price tasted his first professional defeat last night at the hands of 41yo American veteran Tony Thompson.

Thompson who got stopped in just 6 rounds by Klitchsko last year had been backed up and was taking shot from the younger fighter but he used his skill to land a big shot dropping Price in the second and although Price got to his feet he was still unsteady and the ref waved it off.

Price obviously will comeback from this but this has dented his hopes of a big fight in the near future. While Thompson will be back in the money and has been saying in the build up to the fight that after beating Price that he wants a showdown with Tyson Fury, that contest will now certainly be being looking at by both camps as it would be a big draw with UK fight fans.
