Cheltenham Festival day 4: Jazz to call the tune in County Hurdle

Mick Jazz looks to have plenty going for him in the County Handicap Hurdle on the final day of the Cheltenham Festival (2.30)

The six-year-old stated his career with Harry Fry and made a winning debut for Irish trainer Gordon Elliott when landing a maiden hurdle at Cloneml following a lengthy lay-off.

Mick Jazz then ran a blinder when runner-up to Laibak in a Gerade 3 at Navan and the winner won the Supreme earlier in the week to give the form a boost.

He then ran very well to finish third in a big feild handicap at Fairyhouse before getting back to winning ways in a Listed contest at Punchetown when digging deep to beat Cilaos Emery by a neck.

Although Mick Jazz now has to race off a career-high makr of 143, 10lb higher than when third at Fairyhouse, he has only had seven starts under rules and remains open to further progression for a yard in fine form.
